Akrapovic exhaust system for Golf VI GTI
Akrapovic are gaining recognition for their high-end titanium exhaust systems for cars, however the Akrapovic name is more widely known for developing exhaust systems for motorsports and road bikes. More recently, Akrapovic has ventured into the development of exhausts technology in the high-performance car market.
With its high-tech facilities in Slovenia, Akrapovic utilizes cutting-edge technology alongside traditional craftsmanship to produce some of the most sought-after exhaust systems on the market.
All Akrapovic exhaust systems are constructed from the company’s own exclusively developed titanium alloy; a material 3 times stronger and more heat resistant than other titanium materials, while being 40% lighter than traditional stainless steel.

The Akrapovic homologated Slip-On exhaust system for the 2-liter 4-cylinder engine emits a true sports exhaust note, and can be ordered with a full racing upgrade with the use of a link pipe (see photos below):
The stock GTI’s sound is already music to ones ears. However, the Akrapovic homologated Slip-On exhaust system makes its 2-liter 4-cylinder engine play a true sporty symphony, which offers the customer an option of acquiring a full racing upgrade with the use of a link pipe. The Slip-On magically creates a unique and recognizable deep Akrapovic sound, which you simply must listen to.
The engineers also responded to requests to equip the GTI with unique 100-mm tail pipes from titanium or carbon fiber, both sets can be ordered separately. The Slip-On exhaust system is made of high quality stainless steel, with two mufflers and unique tail pipes (titanium or carbon fiber) developed specifically for the GTI, delivering an additional 4 HP and 6 Nm gain. The homologated Slip-On exhaust system is 2.87 kilograms lighter over the stock exhaust.
