Bilstein launches New VW Beetle Suspension Upgrade Programme

BILSTEIN has been quick to step up to the plate with a broad range of chassis enhancements for the latest incarnation of the iconic VW Beetle. Ranging from high-performance dampers through to fully adjustable coilovers, the range offers something for every taste, requirement and budget.

The BILSTEIN B6 and BILSTEIN B8 high-performance shock absorbers work perfectly with the factory springs for the ultimate compromise between ride and handling. The B6 is stock length while the B8 uses a shorter body for optimum performance when used in conjunction with a lowering spring kit – allowing the piston to maintain its full travel throughout during suspension movement. Both units are of the inverted monotube type, offering greater rigidity and consistent damping rates – even under the most arduous and testing of driving conditions.

In addition to this, Beetle enthusiasts can enhance the new VW Beetle with high-quality, motorsport-tested BILSTEIN B14 coilovers and a high-performance BILSTEIN B16 suspension system with its ten-level damping force adjustment. Aimed squarely at the enthusiast looking for the perfect road and track set up, the former offers fixed rate damping and up to 50mm of height adjustment, while the latter offers a wide range of height and 10-step combined bump/rebound adjustment in a beautifully finished package.

All four applications were signed off by BILSTEIN’s test drivers at both the Nurburgring and the gruelling Papenburg test facility to ensure that they vastly exceed all OEM handling and safety parameters, whilst improving both steering and braking performance thanks to increased chassis control. With full TÜV approval across the board, the new range offers many miles and years of faithful – and enjoyable – high-speed driving.

Prices have yet to be confirmed but are expected to be in line with the rest of BILSTEIN’s VW range.
