Some affectionately call it the "racing tractor", as it combines sporty dynamism with enormous torque of 390 Nm. Rudolf Diesel would have had fun with the 190 HP (140 kW) strong “off-spring” of his invention. He would certainly never have thought it possible that the diesel engine could reach 100 km/h in a 7.1 second sprint.

A top speed of 230 km/h and plenty of steam in all seven gears – that is how ABT Sportsline defines the 2.0 TDI in the new Golf GTD. This is because after its treatment in the Allgaeu the abbreviation now stands for “Gewinner Tanken Diesel – Winners tank diesel”. The Golf still retains, of course, its economical qualities, as the fuel consumption remains at the low level of the series diesel version.

It goes without saying that the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the Volkswagen group also offers the popular bodykit which is tailor-made for the Golf VI on the compact diesel. The extra portion of sportiness impresses immediately: the front spoiler, front grille, side sills, rear spoiler, rear apron set and the typical ABT 4-pipe rear muffler suit the powerful appearance of the ABT Golf VI GTD. As an addition to the aerodynamic elements, ABT also recommends the sporty AR and BR wheels in 18 and 19 inch, which are available in combination with high-performance tyres. In order to ensure that the ABT Golf GTD guarantees maximum driving enjoyment in traffic as well as optimum safety even in threshold areas, the Allgaeu company has the ABT suspension springs on offer. They lower the centre of gravity of the Golf, so that the car lies even better on the street and even seems more powerful when stationary.

Save money with fun and plenty of benefits: the ABT Golf VI GTD is a versatile vehicle which knows how to impress in everyday life with superior reserves of power and low consumption. The fast car is therefore a “GreaT Diesel”

With a boot volume of up to 1550 litres the New Golf Estate offers plenty of storage room for shopping. The Wolfsburg car also provides room for plenty of driving enjoyment, as Eibach proves in OE quality with an extensive suspension package. Due to its modular concept, customers can upgrade their vehicle step-by-step or decide themselves which components they want.

The Pro-Kit Performance Suspension Springs, which lower the centre of gravity of the vehicle, are a core element of this. They give the estate bodywork, with its longitude emphasis, an extra touch of elegance and convey extra road holding and dynamism in every curve – without affecting the driving comfort. Overall Golf drivers are thereby presented with a balanced tuning, which has become a typical symbol of Eibach products thanks to its decades of experience on the race track and the road.

Anyone who wishes to push the boundaries of the New Golf Estate further with regards to dynamism, can gain an ideal supplement for the set-up with the Pro-Damper Sports Performance Shocks. For an ideal overall offer, Eibach combines both products in the Pro-System. An often underrated upgrade, but one which is close to the hearts of motorsport professionals, is the performance sway bar set, which Eibach offers as the „Anti-Roll-Kit”. It is the most effective means of reducing the tendency to roll, and has virtually no effect on the comfort level of the vehicle. The final stress is provided by the Pro-Spacer Wheel Spacers, made of high-tensile-strength aluminum. Even when the Wolfsburg car is fully loaded they provide uncompromisingly commanding road handling. And they also let a best seller like the New Golf Estate stand out tastefully in the crowd.

All Eibach suspension components, which are available through authorised dealers, are provided with a high-quality corrosion protection and are TÜV-certified.

Volkswagen are proving that fuel consumption can be reduced even in the sporty high-end class with the 199 kW / 270 PS strong Golf R, which is now available to order. Thanks to a turbocharged high-tech TSI engine, it uses only 8.5 litres - 2.2 litres or 21 percent less than its predecessor.

In place of the six-cylinder engine, which has been typical in this class up to now, the new R models use turbocharged 2-litre, four-cylinder TSI engines. The four-wheel drive Golf R (350 Newton metres of torque at between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm) sprints to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds (5.5 seconds for the Golf R DSG) and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Two of the many visually distinguishing features of the completely individualized, exceptional Golf are LED headlights and newly developed LED rear lights. The Golf R is available to order in Germany from €36,400 (Germany).

The Scirocco R is an equally exceptional powerhouse with its sharp 2.0 TSI engine, front-wheel drive, unique look and exclusive equipment. Output: 195 kW / 265 PS. Advantages: High performance and torque values with significantly reduced fuel consumption. An average of merely 8.0 litres (DSG) of Super Plus per 100 kilometres flow into the combustion chambers via direct injection, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 187 g/km - the best possible value for a 250 km/h (electronically limited) fast sports car. Eagerly anticipated following its successes at the Nürburgring 24-hour race, the model is now at dealerships from only €33,475 (Germany).

For all of the customers who wish to have especially dynamic bodywork and interior design in the spirit of the enhanced version of the R models, but a petrol or diesel vehicle with less power, the finishing specialists at Volkswagen Individual have designed the R-Line. The Golf R Line and Scirocco R Line can now also be ordered with exclusive features. These include distinctive 17-inch "Mallory" alloy wheels (18-inch optional), roof edge spoilers, R-designed bumpers, high-gloss radiator grill and a likewise black diffuser in the rear section. In the interior, sill panel strips show the R Line family resemblance. Sport seats in new design "Kyalami" with R Line logo in the headrests, a sport steering wheel, pedal covers and footrest in stainless steel round off the sporty image.

The Scirocco R is also successful in the virtual world. In just three weeks, the iPhone application Scirocco R 24h Challenge achieved over 1 million downloads. The high-speed racing game reached the App Store's number 1 spot in 32 countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Norway, Japan, Poland, Portugal and Mexico, and is already Volkswagen's second successful form of mobile marketing after the successful Polo Challenge at the beginning of this year.

Thorough analysis by APS’s technicians has enabled the development of an effective ECU remap for the newly revised version of VAG’s renowned turbocharged 1984cc, EA888 TFSI engine.

The standard MKVI Golf GTi produces 207bhp and 207lb.ft of torque. By comparison, APS’s Stage One ECU performance upgrade increases power to 250bhp at 5800rpm, while torque jumps to a mighty 292 lb.ft at 2650rpm.

On the road, this translates into significant performance improvements, with the 0-60mph time falling from 6.9 to 6.2 seconds, while top speed increases from 149 to approximately 155mph.

Priced at £599.00 fitted, including VAT @ 15%, the APS Stage One MKVI VW Golf GTi upgrade is available now. For total peace of mind, APS’s conversions are covered by a guarantee for the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty.

A UK based demonstrator VW Golf GTi MkVI, fitted with the APS Stage One performance upgrade, will be available for media testing soon.

A.W.E. Tuning announces the release its C|C|B (Cold Cone Box) Intake for all 2006+ Volkswagen Mk5 2.0T Jetta and GTI models. After extensive research and development A.W.E. Tuning has released its C|C|B Intake; the most complete, best engineered intake solution available.

Highlights of the C|C|B Intake:
•	Both FSI and TSI kits available
•	Fully enclosed box to keep heat away from the intake filter
•	Washable large cone filter from OEM supplier
•	+8 horsepower at the crank
•	Improved throttle response
•	Easy to install
•	Engineered, developed and tested in-house

Many aftermarket intakes use open air filters which suck in heat from the engine bay. This will kill any power gains potentially provided by a free flowing air filter. A.W.E. Tuning uses a beautifully designed carbon fiber box to ensure only fresh, cool air enters the engine.

Dyno testing showed increases of 8 horsepower at the crank, with healthy usable gains in the midrange. Extensive power testing also showed that no sustainable gains were possible unless piping after the mass air sensor was uncorked, so the C|C|B includes 2.75 inch diameter stainless steel piping after the airbox. Further, all dyno power testing was done with the vehicle's hood closed to guarantee real world results.

By featuring a fully enclosed box around the air filter and completely replacing the tubing after the mass air flow sensor, A.W.E. Tuning's C|C|B Intake is a tremendous performance upgrade that should be on every enthusiast's "must have" list.

And the GTI is traditionally for OETTINGER an especially passionate project – a piece of company history lies behind the basic concept of the sporty compact vehicle: As creator of the 16 Valve technology OETTINGER made the first GTI possible over 30 years ago.

With a skilful modification of the motor management, the team from Hessen help the latest GTI version, with manual and DSG transmission, to climb from 155 kW (210 hp DIN) to 184 kW (250 hp DIN) and allow the Speedo needle to charge round to 250 km/h (155 mph). This significant increase in power together with the strengthened torque of 360 Nm / 250 lb/ft (standard 280 Nm / 206 lb/ft) allows the OETTINGER GTI to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 6.2 seconds (standard 6.9 sec.).

The performance enhancement via the OBD port is available immediately from the OETTINGER performance centres or directly from OETTINGER for 1,390.00 Euro. Further development stages for the 2.0 l engine to wide over 300 hp (DIN) as well as many other technical accessories will be available during the summer.

The word ´downsizing´ resounds everywhere. Small volume engines with turbo charging and up-to-date technology promise favourable usage and exhaust values with reasonable performance. That less really can be more is emphasised by Sportec with its Sportec SC 200 based on the VW Golf VI 1.4 TSI.

The agile Golf is here turned into a real GTI killer that at the same time has the typically discreet Sportec external look. However, after its makeover the small Golf engine proves to be a crafty one. From a modest 1.4 litre cubic capacity the masterly electronic manipulation of the Swiss vehicle summons a full 200 PS with a torque of 300 Nm, which lies between 1,800 and 3,000 U/min (VW Series 160Ps/240 Nm by 1,500 U/min). This ensures impressive driving values.

The Sportec SC 200 shaves a full 1.4 seconds off the 8.2 seconds taken by the VW Series for the sprint to 100 Km/h and is a full 3.2 seconds faster for the time taken to accelerate to 180 Km/h. Fuel consumption still remains favourable: it does, however, require the octane richer Superplus fuel (Super series) after its modification. Externally the only visible signs of the increased performance can be found in the Sportec sports exhaust, which, although visually very similar to the original, with its heartier tone and above all lesser back pressure ensures increased capacity and optimum use of the combustion chamber.

In order to safely bring the increased performance onto the road Sportec also recommends fitting the sport suspension that was exclusively devised for the tuner. Furthermore, a sports braking system is available for those drivers with special sports ambitions.
