The series engine of the Scirocco is very sporty. The series output rises to 370 hp and 519 Nm by optimizing the software, Downpipe and MR Car Design Stage Turbo kit 3. The backpressure optimized, manual welded, sport exhaust system from MR Car Design, made of steel and with TÜV certificate adds up to the optimal Power output and the muffled thunderous sound. MR Car Design installs furthermore the 35% fins limited slip differential - therewith the speed gets on the road without wheelspin. With these changes the DSG-Software has to be adjusted.

MR Car Design mounts a Stoptech high performance brake system with 4-pistons an two-pieces slotted discs size 355x32 mm. The brake system is completed with the inovative bleeding valve from Stahlbus.
New to the assortment are MR Car Design, 20" 1-part Emotion Wheels (Strada) aluminium rims. Hankook hoops the Scirocco with S1 EVO High performance tires (235/30 ZR20).

For all of the customers who wish to have especially dynamic bodywork and interior design in the spirit of the enhanced version of the R models, but a petrol or diesel vehicle with less power, the finishing specialists at Volkswagen Individual have designed the R-Line. The Golf R Line and Scirocco R Line can now also be ordered with exclusive features. These include distinctive 17-inch "Mallory" alloy wheels (18-inch optional), roof edge spoilers, R-designed bumpers, high-gloss radiator grill and a likewise black diffuser in the rear section. In the interior, sill panel strips show the R Line family resemblance. The cooperation between VW and Eibach has already proven to be a success with the racing version of the Scirocco. Not just because the Scirocco was able to defend its class title at this year’s 24h race at the Nurburgring, but its natural-gas powered twin also stormed to victory in the "Alternative engines" class at the very first attempt. Eibach always draws on its vast experience of motorsport in the development of its suspension components. Instead of presenting radical solutions, this family-owned firm always ensures that it creates an equal balance between dynamic demands andpermanent everyday usability. The Pro-Kit Performance Springs from Eibach, for example, are optimally adjusted to the adaptive dynamic damping system (DCC) of the new Scirocco. This ensures that the driver maintains the option of adjusting the hardness of the damping to his/her wishes.

The springs themselves offer sufficient reserves of comfort with their unique characteristics. When lowering of the centre of gravity of the vehicle, Eibach consciously keeps it at a technically important height of 20 millimetres. More extreme values would not further improve the handling and above a certain level actually have a negative effect. In addition, with this configuration the customer has no problems when driving over bumps or on steep entrances to underground car parks. On the other hand, the optical effects of the“small” height adjustment are visible at first glance – in particular with the aerodynamic sports package from Volkswagen Zubehör. A front spoiler lip, side sill set and rear spoiler with eye-catching black coated diffuser elements considerably shorten the perceived distance to the ground. The icing on the cake is the harmonically integrated rear roof spoiler, which like all the elements of this package, is optimally adjusted to the silhouette of the Scirocco.

In order to further optimise the handling characteristics of the Scirocco, motorsport partner Eibach has focused on Anti-Roll Kit performance stabilisers, which it produces itself. They reduce the tendency to roll and guarantee that the Scirocco precisely follows driver inputs and the driver thereby receives optimum response at all times. The road handling is further optimised by the Eibach Pro-Spacer Wheel Spacers, by moving the 19 inch large "motorsport" light-metal alloys from Volkswagen Zubehör further out. This is an effect which accentuates the weight-optimised 10-spoke wheels and which reflects optically in the even more muscular appearance of the bodywork. Consequently a successful result crystallises from thecooperation between Eibach and VW Zubehör - and this time not just racing drivers get to feel the benefit!

The plates for the Volkswagen Scirocco are equipped with the new GRS (Guided Roller System) which provides even more safety and precision when opening and closing the doors due to its adjustable roller guide.
LSD plates are delivered with a part certificate by the German Technical Control Board which ensures that the LSD gull-wing doors fulfil all security standards.

The refiner located in Leingarten, Germany enhances the performance of the already agile turbo diesel in the VW Scirocco with an additional control unit by more than twenty-five percent from 140 hp (103 kW) to 180 hp (133 kW). Also the maximum torque increases from 320 to 400 Newton metres at 1,750 to 2,500 r.p.m. respectively. The maximum speed thereby rises from 207 km/h to 213 km/h, and the acceleration from zero to hundred is reduced by 0.9 seconds to 8.4 seconds.

Also for the new 2.0 TDI CR, JE DESIGN offers a performance enhancement of 170 hp (125 kW) to 205 hp (171 kW). With that, the Scirocco then renders a top speed of 229 km/h (serial model: 222 km/h) and accelerates from zero to hundred in 7.1 seconds (serial model: 7.8 seconds). The torque rises to 410 Newton metres (serial model: 350 Nm).

JE DESIGN offers the entire performance pack with assembly for 1,249 euros (180 hp) and 1,449 euros (205 hp) including VAT and adds a 12-month warranty.

In order to adjust the appearance to the newly gained power, JE DESIGN has created an entire body kit. The refiner produces these parts in the usual OEM-quality made of high-quality ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). The CNC-milled material ensures a low weight, perfect fitting accuracy and at the same time, the highest material stability.

The kit for 919 euros including VAT includes a front spoiler with a centre sword in carbon look which already renders a racy glance when the car is still parked. Approximately one year after the market launch of the third Scirocco generation, Volkswagen is presenting the most powerful series built Scirocco ever made at the Nürburgring. Its charged four-cylinder 2.0 l TSI is impressive with an output of 195 kW / 265 PS and 350 Newton metres of torque – the dynamic effect is just as striking as the running gear which provides optimal traction characteristics thanks to, amongst other things, the new front axle differential lock XDS.

The design of the Scirocco R is largely based on the Scirocco GT24, which was designed for motor sports: there are large air intake openings in the front bumper which the engineers used to achieve optimal cooling for the engine and the brakes, and an integrated front spoiler as well as the bi-xenon headlights. At the rear end, the roof edge spoiler, which is much larger than on the standard model, a striking shining black diffuser and the chrome tailpipes of the dual exhaust system dominate the design. The side view of the vehicle is characterised by the powerful sill panels as well as the specially-designed 18" alloy wheels "Talladega".

Volkswagen will demonstrate the potential of the new Scirocco R during the 24- hour race with this racing version. With a total of five Sciroccos, driver teams including Dr Ulrich Hackenberg, member of the Volkswagen board of management for technical development, the rally world champion Carlos Sainz as well as this year's Dakar winner Giniel de Villiers, will be at the start line.
