Many years ago people used to wear their hair, even in Kempten, in styles which seem strange to us nowadays. ABT Sportsline, however, already knew how to properly "style" cars from the VW group 50 years ago. Since then the motto "cooler, faster, wider" has lost none of its fascination. "With the approaching anniversary the longing has grown to see some family members again, who have left us over the years", explains General Manager Hans-Jürgen Abt.

For its 50th anniversary, the traditional company has therefore invited all tuning fans who own an ABT car which is more than 20 years old, to get in touch. It is not just cars that have been completely reconstructed, such as the legendary "Golf Breitbau version" of the early 80s. "Distant relatives" with less extensive modifications are also warmly welcomed. Representatives of all models are being sought after, from the Scirocco I to the Corrado, from the DKW F12 to the Audi 200, from the Polo to the Audi V8.

In all cases the following applies: the more ABT there is inside, the better the chance of victory. This is because the best car will receive a unique prize, which is not on any price list. Hans-Jürgen and Christian Abt will welcome the best vehicle in person at the company site in Kempten, the place where it once had its important "styling" appointment, and will give the owner a tour of the museum and the company. In addition the owner will receive a signed ABT book, essentially the "family album" of the tuning company. And as the Allgäu region is not just about nice cars, but also has fascinating countryside and cities to discover, an exclusive overnight stay is also included.

All of which means you can take your time for the visit. Although sometimes it's nice to put your foot down, at other times you also have to change down a gear, in order to really enjoy the drive.

For anyone who wants to send their historical tuning witness into the "race": please send an E-mail with photos to support your application and a description of the vehicle to Florian Büngener, info@abt-sportsline.de

Regardless of whether it is a diesel or petrol car - ABT Sportsline, the largest tuner for cars of the VW group in the world, offers diverse performance improvements for almost all equipment. Do you just want a few more HP so that you are able to cope with everyday traffic with aplomb?

Then ABT POWER is the right choice for you. Here the electronic engine control unit is optimised and perfectly adjusted to suit the character of the car. This actually no longer has anything to do with chip tuning, as ABT POWER does not make any risky modifications to the hardware. Here "only” the software is modified. Nevertheless it is associated with an enormous amount of development work, as Christian Abt, the general manager of ABT responsible for technology, explains. The experienced motor-sport star states: “We have to re-program the data for each model and each engine and then test it on a ‘driving object’. Only once the performance improvements also perfectly agree in everyday traffic, are they available for the customer to order.” In order to simulate the stresses of a long car life, Christian Abt and his crew do not just drive thousands of kilometres on "normal” roads and test surfaces, but the engine is also put through its paces in the engine and rolling road dynamometer. “As a result the full guarantee does not just remain valid on new cars, but we can also provide guarantees for the performance improvements on
‘used cars’".

Customers who want “even more” than ABT POWER, can, of course, also be certain that the car is not only made faster and more sporty, but remains completely reliable. Anyone who chooses
ABT POWER S receives technology from ABT which has been tested up to the last detail – and with a guarantee. This is because alongside the engine control unit a new turbo charger "Made in Kempten” is also applied. All the components are highly-efficiently coordinated with each other and fit perfectly. The hardware and software are developed for a harmonic and sporty partnership and all "pull” together. Christian Abt encapsulates the credibility of ABT Sportsline: “our aim is to offer the customer the maximum amount of driving enjoyment and dynamics at one-hundred percent quality, i.e. everyday usability and durability of all the components.” In the case of ABT POWER R this leads to the creation of real super-sports cars: for example, on the 4.2 litre V8 Audi S5 the performance is increased by 45 percent to a massive 510 HP (375kW). This is possible due to the optimal combination of the modified engine control unit with an ABT Compressor.

However, ABT does not merely offer more power at the best quality: the company is also successful in research, when the aim is to combine driving enjoyment with environmental and economic benefits. The latest example is the 1.4 TSI from the Volkswagen group. With ABT Sportsline the “small” engine’s performance then becomes exactly the same as its big brother’s, the 2.0 TSI series model – with considerably lower petrol consumption and therefore also lower CO2 emissions.

In contrast to the trend of the European and US automobile market, Asia is presenting itself with stable growth – a trading area with a future. The international automobile corporations have also understood this, and have been increasing their presence there for some time now. Audi and Volkswagen are among the most popular import brands.

Reason enough for ABT Sportsline as a worldwide leading customizer for vehicles of the Volkswagen Group to pay particular attention to this market and to open up its own Asia branch in Singapore.

Hans-Jürgen Abt, Managing Director of ABT Sportsline, explained the intention that led to the setting up of the subsidiary: "The market in Asia is fiercely contested. With the foundation of ABT Asia, we would like to offer our partners in Asia and Oceania the best possible support". The idea slowly ripened and was well thought-out: the long-established company has been a firm factor in the vehicle-customizing segment in Asia for years. For the past two proud decades, ABT has maintained close business relationships with Japan and Taiwan and was one of the first companies to discover the Chinese market.

At the end of 2007, the findings from this work supported the decision to establish a subsidiary in Singapore. Asia expert Wolfgang Kitzeder, who was ABT Sportsline Export Director up to now, will be the managing director of ABT Asia. He will manage the business out of his office in Singapore and personally look after partners from China to Australia: "With the foundation of ABT Asia, we would like to use the constant growth of the markets over the coming years and increase ABT Sportsline's overall result percentage considerably", said the future managing director of the Asian branch of the long-established Allgäu company.

On 3rd November 2008, ABT Asia will commence operations in Singapore.

Since last weekend, the high art of engineering and the design masterpieces of ABT Sportsline have found a new home in Hungary. For ambitious drivers, ABT is synonymous with sportiness suited for everyday use – also in the up-and-coming country in Central Europe.

Since founding the car tuning company over 20 years ago "B&B Car Technology" has placed itself among the globally most renowned VW and AUDI performance tuning firms through technological expertise and an unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. B&B are the initials of the company founders and managing directors Siegfried Becker and Michael Bentler.

From the beginning it has been a matter of course that all B&B products, be it a body lowering, power enhancement or the full-fledged power tuning changeover, meet the strict and meticulous quality standards of the German TÜV, include TÜV certification and come with an extensive express warranty on materials, assembly, and consequential damages.

The primary guideline thereby with all B&B changeovers is securing a complete compatibility with daily driving conditions and achieving the highest possible engine and drive train stability. Innovative new and further developments as well as extraordinary car changeovers have produced an increasingly large number of satisfied customers at home and abroad and ensured the firm B&B a definitive membership in the circle of the most famous performance tuning companies in Europe. B&B’s VW & Audi sales partners at home and abroad also offer their products and services for a custom-fit, individual changeover and optimization.

From the VW Lupo to the AUDI A8, from TDI to W12 engines, everything technologically feasible and justifiable within the range of, ENGINE TECHNOLOGY, ELECTRONICS and SUSPENSION is made possible so as to practice tuning in its classic sense, that is refined reengineering of given structures.

Numerous test reports in leading professional journals have further increased the excellent reputation the name B&B has established for itself when it comes to "quality before quantity" all over Germany and abroad. Preceding the sales launch of each and every newly developed product, B&B test vehicles are subjected to the rigorous testing of the German TÜV and handed over to the professional journals for direct comparison tests. Only after these extensive field tests and inspections regarding vehicle reliability are successfully accomplished, these tests often include testing under grueling conditions on the (in)famous German Nürburgring where 2,000 run km relate to approximately 30,000km street wear!

The B&B’s products can go onto sale. To continuously live up to these high self-imposed standards and to fully satisfy B&B customer's needs in every manner and form for the long-run of the company's goal.
This doesn't only apply to raw engine power, but also refers to new technologies, especially exhaust levels, noise emission, vehicle stability, and complete compatibility with daily driving conditions. All of the power enhancements and changeovers include a warranty certificate as a confirmation of these claims.

B&B Automobiltechnik GmbH obtained another confirmation of our commitment to excellence a few years ago through the certification of the DEKRA-ITS Certification Services GmbH.

One of the most spectacular creations of the Siegen based tuner is the 300hp VW Lupo RS.
