Forge Motorsport Alloy Radiator – VW Golf GTI Mk7
Forge Motorsport’s range of precision tuning parts for hot VWs continues to grow at an ever-more impressive rate, and the latest design to emerge from the company’s Gloucestershire R&D division is this stunning ‘OEM+’ radiator for the sharply styled VW Golf Mk7 GTI.
Forge’s engineering team looked long and hard at the factory design in order to create an uprated and larger part that still fits on the stock mounts, with no cutting or trimming of any sort required. This new radiator is a vast improvement over the efficacy of the OEM part and uses a thicker core with greater thermal efficiency to improve the capacity of the car’s cooling system.
This is ideal for installation on tuned or competition vehicles, or where an uprated intercooler has been installed that might restrict airflow. As you might expect from Forge, although the part is made to their usual motorsport quality, this unit is still compatible with vehicles fitted with air conditioning.
As standard, the radiator comes with black end tanks and a silver core to replicate the OEM look. If required, drivers can choose and even more stealthy ‘all black’ finish for those that want to be cool and utterly subtle all at the same time.
As well as an improved flow path, Forge’s engineers have maximised the surface area and utilised a high efficiency radiator core with a unique flow enhancement to ensure that the coolant passes evenly across the core and that the area of restricted airflow (behind the crash bumper) is taken into account.
The Forge Golf Mk7 Radiator has been carefully designed to bolt in as a direct replacement to the OEM part in a short time, with the most simple of hand tools. It is priced at £577.00 + VAT.
