Forge Motorsport Direct Mount Turbo Dump Valve For VW Group Engines
Forge Motorsport is famed for its mastery of the dark art of creating truly effective dump valves for turbocharged cars. Its latest creation for the 1.4T, 1.8T & 2.0T FSI and TSI engines of the VW Group really is an object lesson in the craft.
Fitting many VAG cars, including the 2011-2013 2.0 engine fitted with the IHI turbo, this new valve offers Forge’s usual mix of great looks, superb function and a very reasonable price. Suitable for many VW, Seat, Skoda and Audi vehicles, this valve is a tuning must for these cars.
Drawing on decades of experience, and using the very latest CAD and rapid prototyping R&D protocols, Forge’s latest valve improves on previous models and eclipses its competitors by offering some clever innovations. Unique slots machined in the body of the valve allow for a more effective and quicker release of air, due to larger surface area. This also adds a fantastic and unique sound into the mix, too! Constructed from the highest quality aerospace grade aluminium billet, and arriving complete with all accessories, fitting and instructions to ensure perfect function, this valve can be fitted in a few minutes with basic hand tools.
This valve represents the latest evolution of Forge’s FMFSITAT valve, and is a hybrid of sorts – one that combines a full replacement solenoid controlled recirculating valve with a blow-off valve adapter. The result is a full replacement atmospheric blow-off valve that integrates seamlessly with the OEM electronics and results in absolutely no fault codes, no check engine lights, and no detriment to the performance of the vehicle in any way. Like Forge’s full replacement recirculating valve option, the FMFSITVR, this FMFSITAT valve is fully engineered to remedy the failure issues experienced with the OEM solenoid valves when their diaphragm often ruptures – which effectively results in a boost leak!
This valve is particularly well suited to the B7 and B8 chassis Audi A4 and A5 with the 2.0T engine. The valve mounting location on these vehicles is positioned particularly close to the frame rail of the chassis, and the overall installed height of Forge’s standard replacement valve and spacer combination is such that it conflicts with the chassis at this point.
This new valve has a much shorter overall installed height, which enables fitment of this atmospheric valve option onto the B7 and B8 chassis – whereas this was previously not an option. Another particularly unique feature of this product is the included intake manifold tap used to source a vacuum reference for the operation of the valve. This piece also has two other available provisions from which an intake manifold reference can be taken. These extra manifold references can be used for a boost gauge signal, and even a water/meth injection trigger where applicable! If this to be installed to the 1.4 Turbo engine, it will be necessary to additionally purchase Forge’s boost sensor adaptor kit in order to complete fitment.
Despite all of these superb new features – and the smart new design, Forge has kept the price of the new valve precisely the same as the old one; £174.37 + VAT.
Note: This will ONLY fit the 1.4 turbo engines up to early 2013, where the turbo is mounted at the front of the engine bay. It will not fit engine codes CMBA & CXSB.
