Forge Motorsport has solved the problem of DPF replacement for the VW Group Golf and Leon 2.0 litre platform with a beautifully engineered replacement stainless steel pipe kit. In one fell swoop, this completely eliminates the factory DPF system, removing the need for costly replacement and restoring the vehicle’s original performance and economy.
The diesel particulate filter has become a huge problem for all modern diesel powered vehicles, as the DPF will need replacing at some point as part of the service schedule, due to overloading. As it is considered to be a “wear and tear” item, and therefore not under warranty, replacement is always at the owner’s expense. An overly-loaded filter can lead to dash lights coming on, limited power and poor MPG due to regeneration.
VOSA is already very clear that removal of the DPF will NOT constitute an MOT fail, as long as the car still meets its emissions specs.
