After an amount of press speculation, in June 2006, VW officially announced production of a new Scirocco model at the Autoeuropa assembly plant in Palmela, Portugal. The car is already very popular and tuners are also aware of this. Sportec, a Swiss high-tech company whose aim is to redefine the notion of quality tuning for selected makes of car, has already put their hands on the new Scirocco.

Sportec develops exclusive tuning programmes, combining the ultimate in performance and perfection. The SC240 developed by Sportec has a set of improvements that makes the Scirocco sportier.
The SC240 tuning programme starts with a Performance optimization by ECU remapping. The performance figures after the ECU Optimization are:

A Sport Exhaust system with 2 tailpipes Ø 80mm and Sportec logo also improves performance and the sound of the engine. For the suspension tuning, you can choose from a sport suspension with shock absorbers with sportive adjustment and Upside-Down-Technologie or just suspension springs that lower about 35mm.

The wheels are the Mono/10 8.5x19 "with 245/35 ZR19 Toyo Tires and special paint (Powder coated). Spacer kit 15/15 - 5x112 is also available. For the interior customization, there are parts like: Floor mat set 4-piece in soft velour with logo, Handbrake-front in carbon look and Sportec lettering, Gear lever knob in carbon look with logo in cover.
