Tarox Uprated Disc and Pad kit for the Golf Mk7 and all MQB chassis VW Group Cars
The latest incarnation of the Golf, the Mk7, seems to have been a universally acclaimed international hit. But, it’s not just that car either; thanks to its clever use of platform sharing, the very same platform finds itself under the latest Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia too. Good news then, that the latest high-performance disc and pad upgrade range from Italian braking maestro Tarox therefore fits all four cars!
Tarox always seeks to exceed rather than meet any relevant quality standards for its braking products, but in the case of these latest components, it does seem to have pushed the boat out in terms of accreditation. Not only have these new discs surpassed the rigourous German KBA type approval – which means these pads can be fitted to even brand new cars without fear of warranty invalidation – but also the pads are also R90 and ‘E’ marked to ensure they meet all relevant European laws. Although these discs and pads offer much greater retardation and cold weather ‘bite’ than any OEM product for these cars, as far as your dealer and insurance company are concerned, you can fit these with impunity! Very much the best of both worlds…
As with every Tarox disc, each part undergoes a structural stress-relieving heat treatment at the end of each machining cycle which increases durability and massively reduces the risk of warping under repeated heavy braking. It is then CNC machine-faced for the perfect braking surface, down to a tolerance of 0.015mm, not only resulting in the perfect performance, but also the perfect finish, to accentuate the overall look of the car.
Four styles are available. The OEM-esque ‘Zero’ with its factory good looks, the diagonally vented ‘G88’, the JDM inspired ‘Sport Japan’ and the classic, spirally grooved ‘F2000’.
The perfect discs need the perfect pads, and here, Tarox have a range of proven compounds that work well in all environments. Corsa or Track pads range from mild to wild, allowing enthusiasts the ability to tailor their cars’ braking performance to suit their driving style and usage. Corsa offers the perfect compromise for cars that live dual lives on road and circuit, whilst ‘Track’ delivers race-winning performance in circuit environments where nothing else matters but ultimate performance.
Prices start from just £225.00 including VAT for a pair of any of the disc designs and pads start from £79.00 including VAT. Nothing increases driver confidence like a set of decent brakes, so if you want to increase safety and decrease lap times, while keeping all of your warranty coverage firmly in place, then these are the perfect upgrade.
Tarox also offer hand-finished stainless steel braided brake lines as an entirely sensible upgrade. These are just £69 +VAT for a set of four. For more information, please click to www.tarox.co.uk
