With skilful modification of the motor management, Oettinger's engineers have been able to assist the most powerful ever Golf to come out of Wolfsburg, the Golf R, to an increase in power from 199kW (270 hp DIN) to 228 kW (310 hp DIN) which allows the speedometer needle to storm to over 260 km/h (162 mph). This noticeable increase in power and the improved torque of 420 Nm (310 lb/ft) from 350 Nm (258 lb/ft) allows the OETTINGER Golf R to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 5.3 seconds (standard 5.7 seconds).

Oettinger also offers a retro fit carbon “Ram Air” intake collector including a sport air filter, specific for the R version.
