The OETTINGER Scirocco…again
We feature the first Oettinger Scirocco pictures in 2008. Since then we didn’t update further info about the Oettinger products for this sport coupé. Pure suspense – from front to rear is how the OETTINGER Scirocco presents itself. The OETTINGER programme ranges from engine enhancements, over elegantly styled aerodynamic styling kits, high quality alloy wheels, sporty yet comfortable suspensions and sport exhausts, to individual leather trim and multimedia solutions.
The sporty and dynamic traits are expertly and successfully complemented by the OETTINGER body. The powerful engine conversions are also impressive. The heart of a sport coupe is and remains the engine!
There are already some different stages to choose from. You can get 300 PS from the 2.0 TSI engine with an OETTINGER turbocharger and exhaust manifold, pressure pipe modified, bigger intercooler and new engine management. Or just 240 PS only with a new modified engine management software. OETTINGER is also working on a 310 PS software version for the Scirocco R. This software is on development and TÃœV approval in preparation. Unconstrained propulsion and secure on the limit performance will be provided for before the year is out with up to 350 PS and 470 Nm (2.0 TSI), a specially tuned adjustable suspension and larger brakes.
Not only increased engine power but also the continued reliability has always been a priority for OETTINGER. This means that every new engine development must undergo intensive testing on the dynamometer and test tack followed by emissions testing at the emissions testing laboratory of the TÃœV Rheinland.
You can also get a bigger intercooler. The OETTINGER intercooler replaces the standard intercooler. The installation requires approx. 4-5 hours, but relatively easy. The OETTINGER intercooler is supplied as a complete kit including all connecting and fitting parts. By significantly reducing the temperature of the previously compressed charge air as compared to the series, especially by high ambient temperatures and in hot countries, the larger OETTINGER intercooler ensures: increased engine power, lower consumption, improved responsiveness and efficient reduction of the radiator temperature.
The Carbon dynamic pressure charging intake for 2.0 TSI engine is also a good upgrade for the intake. Due to the optimized flow form and the excess pressure created, more air is fed to the engine as the speed increases; this in turn leads to a noticeably improved response and increased power. The series air box is no longer required after the conversion. It also looks good under the hood.
The highly polished stainless steel exhaust system from the OETTINGER turbocharger back, with its distinctive sound will also naturally be included as will a larger intercooler. With a larger bore Ø70mm, you get a sporty sound and more power.
The aerodynamics also makes a big impact. This bodykit consists of a OETTINGER front spoiler with carbon lip, side skirts and rear diffuser. All the parts are manufactured in high quality RRIM for an exact fit and is primed ready for painting. For further noticeable fun and noble appearance you can choose the 20†OETTINGER type RXX sport wheels, Carbon interior, stainless steel kick plates, finest floor mats and aluminium pedals.
