The RFK Tuning VW Golf Mk 5 R32
An up and coming player in the tuning world, RFK Tuning GmbH, located in Waldfischbach-Burgalben have just completed their first Volkswagen-based project car, a Golf Mk 5 R32.
Colour is the most striking feature of this six-cylinder Golf. The bodywork is finished in „Matt Chrome Yellow” foil, with the 8.5×19-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels painted a contrasting bright candy red.
Straight from RFK’s in-house label, Elegance Wheels, the ‘E 1 Concave split-rim’ wheels feature gold decorative screws that give the impression that these one-piece wheels are actually multi-piece.
Shod with 225/35ZR19 Pirelli P Zero Nero tyres, and manufactured with offsets of ET45 and ET35 on the front and rear axles respectively, these wheels clear the R32 brakes without spacers.
Also suitable for the VW Golf Mk 7 GTI, Seat Leon Cupra and Skoda Octavia RS, Elegance Wheels have a certification that enables them to be easily entered in the registration papers of these models.
As Sales & Service Point for KW automotive, RFK Tuning selected the most appropriate coil-over suspension kit for their R32. As a specialist for KW’s subsidiary, ST Suspensions, this turned out to be a set of ST X adjustable coil-overs. Set with a few centimeters lower ride height, this delivers significant visual and handling improvements.
In standard form, the free-breathing 3.2 litre V6 engine of the Golf R32 delivers a strong 184 kW / 250 hp and 320 Nm of torque, accompanied by a rousing soundtrack. RFK Tuning is a distributor for BHP Motorsport, and their software remap increases output to 198 kW / 270 hp and 340 Nm, with sharper throttle response.
